V 13 JESSICA (Ex Vertue Celia, ex Corran, ex Frea)

Description

The black and white photo of Corran (as she then was called) under sail appeared in the 1966 edition of the Irish Cruising Club annual and I am indebted to Ted O’Drisoll for telling me about this amazing resource.  The wonder of it is that pdf versions of the annuals are available to download on Google.

Jessica was built to the ‘Monie’ drawings as Frea, at Primmer & Snook, just across the Hamble river from where Andrillot was built in 1935.   At least two other Vertues were to be built to the drawings, without doghouses, in future years.  One was already in build and the other was soon to be built but was later altered.
